Nintendo's fearless leader boldy states that Nintendo will NEVER buy out Sega.
Despite a report printed in Wednesday's New York Times, Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi has indicated that, "there is absolutely no chance that Nintendo will buy Sega..."
The Time's report caused Sega's shares to jump more than 10% before being suspended by the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
"The report is absolutely groundless. We are not talking with Nintendo or anyone on such a deal," said a Sega spokeswoman.
Oh well. Happy New Year anyway, Sega. :-) If Sega is not looking for a new owner, what have all the rumors over the last month meant? What are Nintendo and Sega cooking up, if anything at all?
