"Let's get together, yeah yeah, yeah!" The movie (The Parent Trap) was horrid, but the idea of former-rivals getting together is right on!

Not too long ago, we reported a rumor that we saw on Magic Box that mentioned a possible partnership between longtime rivals Nintendo & Sega. According to the rumor, the two companies would team up to make a joint-online RPG for both Dreamcast & Gamecube systems & would make an official announcement in November. Our Talkback for the story exploded with reader comments, with a wide range of responses. As unlikely as it seemed many readers & staffers were excited by the possibility.

A couple days ago, FGN Online reported that the Japanese newspaper Asahi ran a story mentioning that Sega is looking to expand its network gaming business after making announcement last week about suffering a huge financial loss. In order to achieve this, Sega is forming joint companies with both Nintendo and music producer Tetsuya Komuro. No details on what the companies are planning are available yet. It is also unknown if this is just a recent development or the evolution of the rumor we reported previously. Either way, it sounds like we’ll be hearing more soon!
