Perfect Dark 2 for Dolphin

Perhaps? Maybe? A foregone Conclusion?

Patrick Garrett of game-online.com reported that, "Solid word has reached us from reliable sources that Rare is staffing up for Perfect Dark 2 on Dolphin."

Of course, they also stated that "As expected, Rare was evasive on the subject this morning." No kidding?

"Rare cannot confirm or deny that," said the developer's PR stalwart Simon Farmer.

Of course.

While it does make sense that Nintendo's premier second-party developer, Rare, would begin work on a Dolphin sequel to one of the most desired games on the N64, which is a kind of sort of sequel to Goldeneye 007 .. you have to wonder at least a little bit if they will actually make Perfect Dark 2 for Dolphin or not. Of course we want it! Badly .. It is possible that Rare may opt to do something unique again, but a least this time, licensing costs will not get in the way of that decision. Chances are, 3 years from now (maybe less) we will all be basking in some Perfect Dark 2 / Dolphin goodness.

In the meantime, we at PLANETN2000 are looking forward to E3, where we will get our chances to play Perfect Dark, all day, every day of the show .. and maybe if we are nice and suck up a little bit to Nintendo, they will let us bring home some cartridges to review before the launch on May 22. I can't wait!
