The biggest mystery is if my debit card will actually work on the Wii Shop.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For those looking to buy off the Wii Shop, points can only be added to the shop until Monday at 1pm Pacific time. Purchases with points will work until January, but the points must be loaded by the deadline.
As most of the industry's attention is focused on stuff coming out later with GDC on this week, it's important to remember that there's games coming out this week. Though with just over a dozen (or less in Japan) releases, it's a relatively light week. Most of my attention will be headed toward future Ryan Reynolds vehicle Detective Pikachu, which finally comes over after a two+ year wait from the original. The other big game is Attack on Titan 2, and you can go even higher than the listed price for... some reason.
On the eShop front, Neal and Zach have spoken about two earlier releases in Slayaway Camp and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. The Archives are jumping this week, with at least three games in every territory (Sol Divide, World Heroes 2 and Moon Patrol). We were supposed to ask if you were a bad enough dude to leave the president kidnapped, but that got pushed to next week.
Europe adds Gate of Doom to a stacked Archives lineup, while Japan gets an idol game and a decidedly NOT idle game in Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. No English support, for those who can't wait until May.
