And alternate forms for the Smash ones

Some long-awaited Amiibo will finally release this summer, with some variants as well.

The Smash Bros series Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta will launch on July 21, and each character will have two forms including a female Corrin. Some of the alternate forms will be retail exclusives.

Three additional 30th anniversary Amiibo for the Legend of Zelda series will also release on June 23.

Talkback

Oh god, retailer exclusives. This could get rough!

Why would anyone want to buy the male Corrin now?

Why would anyone want to buy Amiibo?

Lololololololololololololol

*sigh* I can't really criticize Amiibo collectors. I've bought most of the Animal Crossing Amiibo. I have Amiibo blood on my hands too.

Two versions of each...*sigh* time to start saving

ShyGuyApril 12, 2017

So... what do these Link Amiibos do in Breath of the Wild?

UncleBobRichard Cook, Guest ContributorApril 12, 2017

But when do I get my 7-Amiibo Koopa Kid box set?

LemonadeApril 12, 2017

I have had that Bayonetta amiibo on preorder since the 4th of March last year. At the time I didnt realise there was no release date for it. Im glad it is finally coming out.
Strange that there are two versions though.

I'm disappointed there is no Fierce Deity Link. Why does it have to be kid link again?

Likely the same thing as the pre-existing Amiibo, AKA Hero of Legend costumes from previous games. There's already data in the game for a Fierce Deity and Skyward Sword costume. I assume the Twilight Princess Amiibo will more reliably drop the Twilight gear, although I'd feel pretty disappointed if the Smash Amiibo did the exact same thing as the new Twilight Princess Amiibo.

These three HOPEFULLY will drop close to the first DLC update for Breath of the Wild, so it should rejuvenate my interest in the game.

StratosApril 13, 2017

The Twilight Princess Link is probably the "permanent" replacement for the Smash Link, since those are getting tough to find.

If they're not releasing these alongside a Smash 4 port, then I wonder what was the cause of the delay.

The Fierce Deity costume gives attack bonuses similar to another set found in the game, with a set bonus of increased stamina for the spin attack.  Upgrades require each piece of every dragon and Hinox and Lynel parts (max defense 20 per piece).  There is also the trademark purple sword.  As with other Amiibo items, it isn't super powerful and it breaks, but you may get lucky and get it again.

Lol, that would be a great title for a game... The Three Amiibos.

My guess is the fact they had to prototype the player 2 versions as well; that's 6 figures total.

If you scan them daily you can get a few of them over time. I already have several Six Sage Swords and Twilight Light Bows without any save-scumming.

And with that, I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up buying more amiibo in June and July than I did all of last year. I legit want all of these.
