The only thing shorter than the NES Classic's controller cord is my temper.

In a warmup for next week's big dual release on the 3DS, the big releases of the week (aside from the NES Classic Mini) are a couple of retail titles. Natsume has a good ol'-fashioned Christmas with Harvest Moon: Skytree Village, while the Cartoon Network brings a big crossover with Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers.

Dungeon Hearts DX is the week's big eShop title, but special dispensation goes to Circle Entertainment and Flyhigh Works for releasing TEN games in one series on the same day. It's a pretty good Virtual Console week as well, as there are two new Wii downloads in Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Rhythm Heaven Fever. The New 3DS also gets in on the action with Mega Man X3 - a game I always felt was missing a Hurricane Kick.

When we get the download release for Europe, it's usually a bad sign when the headliner is a sale (Dementium Remastered). And this week is no exception, as there is exactly ONE game releasing on the continent, from RCMADIAX. Your best bet: Stick to the sales, as Elliot Quest and Dementium Remastered are both up this week.

I like seeing Wii games available to download... but pricing them at over $30 CAD (after taxes) per game seems crazy. Each release can be easily bought for less than half that price in physical format - which isn't locked to a dying console, and can be loaned or re-sold later if you so desire.

But hey, at least they are pretty good games.

Mega Man X3 is my least favorite of the SNES games, but it's still rather good. My faves are X, X2, and X4!

Yeah X3 has some weird design choices but anyone that's enjoyed any other Mega Man X game should still give it a try.
