Two separate sources have confirmed newcomers and long-rumored additions to Pokémon Sun and Moon.

The first group of information came from CoroCoro Magazine, confirming two new Pokémon. The magazine revealed Nekkoara, a Normal-typed Pokémon who looks like a koala and has the ability "Sure Sleeper" which makes it immune to all non-Sleep status conditions. The other is Iwanko, a Rock-typed dog who was previously spotted in a Japanese trailer. CoroCoro also revealed Magearna's trademark move as Fleur Cannon and his ability as Soul Heart (names not final), which raises the Special Attack rating when "something around Magearna" faints.

Later at the Taiwanese National Championships, a trailer was shown revealing the first main series appearance of the Zygarde 10% and Complete forms. The Pokémon Company International later uploaded a translated, high quality trailer showing the 10% form in battle taking a large amount of damage then transforming into Complete Form before retaliating with the new move Core Enforcer. Zygarde 10% also uses Thousand Arms and Thousand Waves, two unused moves from Pokémon X and Y's code.
