The last Metroid is in captivity. The forums are temporarily at peace.

Now that we’re dead in the cold, black heart of winter the downloads are slowing back down. The big release (especially in terms of price) is Space Hulk, which was delayed several months and finally hits Wii U to bring it a dose of Warhammer 40k action. On the low end, there’s the interesting Nindie title Near Earth Objects, which describes itself as a “neo –retro arcade shooter” and isn’t all that expensive for those in the US. There’s also a neat shooting gallery in Wicked Monsters BLAST! HD+, or some rolling action with The Perplexing Orb.

The 3DS eShop picks up a couple of titles of its own with Lionel City Builder 3D: Rise of the Rails and Aksys Games’s latest eShop acquisition Slice It. The Virtual Console follows up last week’s heavy shooting with… well, more shooting in Metroid: Zero Mission.

Europe gets another 3rd party preload opportunity with Final Fantasy Explorers, a demo for beloved remake Etrian Odyssey Untold 2, and… holy cow, they made SIX Mega Man Battle Network games for GBA? And if you were jealous of North America for getting the Runbow sale, we’ve got some good news for you.

Zero Mission! Thank Jesus. The only bad thing is now I dunno what to complain about here.

I am parituclarly facinated by Space Hulk in that i'm about 80% sure that it's a remake of a 3DO game that was this weird first person semi-turn based Squad Shooter that ran at a TERRIBLE frame rate but had really impressive graphics.
