The 11th Wii U game to go platinum is one of the fastest
Nintendo has announced the first sales figures for Super Mario Maker, and they're quite impressive.
PR from all branches of Nintendo has confirmed that the September 10/11 release has sold a million copies including digital, bundles and physical copies sold to consumers. Although a full regional breakdown is not available, just-released Japanese figures from Media Create have the game selling 245,182 units through the close of business Sunday.
With 20 days of sale, Super Mario Maker's million is near the pace of Super Smash Bros (Wii U) and faster than Splatoon, which reached 1m worldwide in 26 days. The fastest selling Wii U game is still Mario Kart 8, which crossed the million mark on its opening weekend of sale.
