Image and Form comes through with some details about their follow-up from the dig.

3DS owners will be the first to return to the world of steam this fall.

It was announced during today's Treehouse Live show that SteamWorld Heist, the follow up to 2013's eShop hit SteamWorld Dig, would release in the fall and the first platform to see the game would be the 3DS.

In a followup interview with NintendoLife, Image & Form's Brjann Sigurgeirsson cited SteamWorld Dig's immense success on the 3DS - reaching number 1 on the sales charts at launch - and a promise that the next game would debut on 3DS as reasons for the decision. Sigurgeirsson also stated "It could be important to mention that we haven't made any deals - we've decided to let the release schedule rest on our own choices."

Got Steamworld Dig with the Indie bundle.  If I had known how much fun it was, I would have gladly paid full price and purchased it sooner.
