The lucky students who get in will be crafting 2D games using Unity for Wii U.

Registration for the 2014 Nintendo Game Seminar opened up in Japan this week. Interested parties have until June 29 to send in their applications. Afterward, the top 28 applicants—14 from the Kansai area and 14 from the Kanto area—will be chosen to participate in the seminar from late August to late March 2015.

The seminar, which is being managed by Nintendo’s Takashi Tezuka, will focus on teaching the students more about game development with input from Nintendo’s staff on aspects such as programming, graphic and sound design and creating ideas for games. Participants will be tasked with creating 2D games using Unity for Wii U. The seminar is open to vocational, university and graduate students who are interested in game development.
