The Caped Crusader is returning to the Wii U!

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - Deluxe Edition has been announced for the Wii U.

Originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2013, the game will now see an HD, digital-only release for the Wii U and other systems in North America on April 1 for $19.99, and in Europe on April 2 for £15.99.

The HD edition will bring a number of minor changes, including a new map and hint system that helps the player track objectives and navigate more easily, improved 2.5-D graphics, and a fully voiced narrative. When you register for a Warner Bros. ID account, you'll also be able to unlock the exclusive Zero Year Batsuit.

Talkback

I'm pleasantly surprised to see WB still supporting Wii U with something like this. You couldn't say the same for Konami, who had a similar opportunity and chose not to bother.

It's an interesting choice.  Since I haven't played the 3DS game, I'm willing to give this a chance for $20.

The WiiU version will not have a map or Batman in order to provide the same great experience WiiU owners have come to expect from WB games. Please understand. /bows

I wonder how long we'll have until we get a cancellation announcement.

I was planning on getting this for 3DS. Now I'll just get the Wii U version. Nicer graphics and cheaper than I am finding for the handheld version.

It's coming out on April fools day, that should say something. :D

I have this game on the 3DS and I was not impressed with it. Needless to say it is probably my least favorite Batman game. The 2.5D aspect of the game is a pain at times to get used to nor do I care for the comic strip like cinematics. I'm not gonna say weather anyone should or shouldn't get it, but I for one will not be getting it.

Looks like a good game to pick up on a Steam sale.
