Some baseball love could be on the way to a Nintendo platform near you.

R.B.I. Baseball ’14 is set to arrive on current and last generation consoles this spring, as revealed by Major League Baseball on their official website. No specific platforms have been confirmed, but this could very well mean a release on the Wii, Wii U and/or Nintendo 3DS. Details on the gameplay have also yet to be revealed.

The series, which saw its last release on the Sega 32X in 1994 with R.B.I. ’95, originated on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 (1986 in Japan) and saw numerous sequels across a variety of platforms.

Who wants to bet that this is going to be yet another "out on everything but Wii U" game?

KITT 10KJanuary 15, 2014

Sounds like a safe bet.

The game could strike out, though.

MLB is developing it the themselves?
Who is the developer? Publisher?

They'll balk when they see the Wii U numbers...

Of course that will be the case. Wii U isn't last Gen and it isn't next gen. It is in-between gen as people like to point out so therefore it doesn't meet the criteria mentioned for a release.

Wow...that went over my head the first time I read that.  Well done.

Whatever it is, this game will have a negative WAR if it doesn't include easy editing so I can do things like this and this in it.

Good news. Hope this turns out well since I loved the old NES game. Plus modern day baseball games like The Show on PS3 have become too sim-like for my taste. Don't necessarily want an over-the-top baseball game like The Bigs, I just want a good baseball game that remembers it's still a video game.

Whoever had the 2014 prediction that a 20-year-old sports series would be revived this year, just won a whole lot of money.

Gerstmann demands and they make it so.

I'm glad this exists and hope it comes to Wii U, but I have no interest in it. Unless something drastically changes, I'll be picking up MLB The Show 14 day one.
