Of course, it is only available for a limited time.

Club Nintendo members can get a free downloadable game with the purchase and registration of a 3DS XL system and a copy of either Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon or Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.

Buyers will have five games to choose from, including: Star Fox 64 3D, Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone, Super Mario 3D Land, and Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.

The deal will only be valid between March 21 and April 30.

Looks like I'm out of luck since I already registered my 3DS XL back in December '12. Oh well, I got Maio Kart 7 with it.

This looks like a nice promotion. Since it's 3DS XL only, I guess they would be losing money if the promotion included the 3DS.

I haven't registered my 3DS XL yet and I was already thinking of getting Luigi's Mansion 2 on release, so I might take advantage of this even though I have Super Mario 3D Land and none of the four other games particularly interest me.

If the Monster Hunter 3DS XL (or Fire Emblem 3DS XL) is not announced for NA before this promotion ends, I'm gonna take the plunge and get a blue XL (probably the Mario Kart bundle). This is a really good promotion.

Hmm... I wonder why 3DSXL only and not 3DS. Maybe they have a higher margin on the XL model that makes this possible?

I was due to pick up a XL later in the year and get digital 3D Land, so why not get both and basically get Luigi's Mansion free?

Europe had a better promotion where all you needed was just a 3DS XL and you got a game for free.

Interesting that Layton is also in this, it made sense for european promotion cause Layton is published by NoE and that made all these games first party.

The same is true in North America.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....

This is really tempting me into finally getting a 3DSXL... The thought of either Super Mario 3D land or Star Fox 64 for free is not only extremely enticing but a tad bit confusing; which the hell one do I choose!

If I pick up a 3DS I want to pick up OoT with it; I would of skipped it until much much later in it's lifetime (and with how I use my handhelds, most likely when the 3DS successor has already come out..) but the announcement of Wind Waker HD kind of makes me want to replay OoT with the graphics overhaul, which so far I've only seen in screens, not in motion, to get me ready for WWHD. It just seems logical to me, but at the same time the thought of wanting to play a remake of a game I've already played makes me think I should probably pass on SF64 and go for Mario Land instead; new content vs old content right? Fair balance of "launch" games to start me off before I start exploring all the new games I've missed (kid icarus!).

Or I could skip zelda, get Super Mario 3D Land and choose SF64 for free.. That way my play style would be - New game for the majority of my time, but when I'm in the mood for a quick fix instead of a steady play through, I could whipe out my arwing since it lends itself to quick plays (I'm assuming it has a save state? how long does the 3ds last in standby anyway..?).

Or I could be an adult, tell myself I have too many games and too little time as is and skip out on the promotion but mask my rationality with "I'm just waiting for the eventual revision" because, you know, making adult choices suck.

This is an excellent deal if you're in the market for an XL. Unfortunately, I already have the only game that's offered that interests me (3D Land).

With Nintendo merging their handheld and console hardware teams recently, I feel like a revision will happen sooner rather than later. I really wouldn't be surprised by a 3DSU next year.
