Who's ready for faster start screen loading times?

New enhancements to Wii U and Miiverse were announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.

The presentation revealed that Miiverse, initially exclusive to Wii U, will be made into a smartphone application this spring. Initially, the app will be browser-only, but will expand to support smartphones in the future.

Furthermore, Wii U will gain two system updates in the spring and summer, respectively. The updates will feature a range of functionality, including Virtual Console features and shortening the time it takes to launch software or return to the menu screen.

Miiverse will be much more addictive when I can post from my phone lol a little saddened their not working on faster loading times for now instead of making us wait, but it's not THAT bad anyway so no big deal, just annoying.

YES to faster Wii U OS.

I'm really glad they specifically noted this and a few of the most egregious problems the OS has and their intention of fixing it by summer.

Finally, I have something to do on my Ipad 4!  For the last couple months it's basically just been my $500 comic book reader.
