Epic Mickey isn't the only retail game available on the eShop this week.

This week, Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (which releases on November 18) kicks off the eShop release of third-party retail games, but a few surprises sneaked their way into the party as well: Myst, American Mensa Academy, and Hotel Transylvania are each available to purchase digitally today. If it's download exclusives you want, Monster Shooter, Jump Trials, and Working Dawgs: A-Maze-ing Pipes are also available. So let's get down to business, because we've got some 'splainin' to do.

eShop:

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion - $39.99

Grab your paintbrush, Mickey, because the world has called upon you once again. Steer Mickey through the worlds of Aladdin, Peter Pan, and The Little Mermaid, and hope you can right what has been turned wrong. DreamRift is behind this Castle of Illusion-inspired romp, so be prepared for some terrific sprite work.

Monster Shooter - $6.99

All right, bald space marine, prepare to kick some monster butt in... wait. Ladies and gentlemen, turns out Monster Shooter flips the script. You are not case as a rogue, tough, played out space marine; instead, you are the monster. And you are not going around shooting your fellow monsters, nope. You are shooting aliens that stole your cat! So get out there in this top-down shooter, grab some guns (including shotguns, plasma rifles, and nukes), and blow some aliens up in over 60 levels.

Myst - $29.99

Take a trip to a mysterious island, a place filled with puzzles and stereoscopic 3D enhancements. Assume the role of The Stranger, and unravel the adventure before you.

American Mensa Academy - $29.99

Do you watch Jeopardy, scolding those around you for not answering in the form of a question? Perhaps you think Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's lifelines are for dummies? Then American Mensa Academy may be right up your cranial alley. Using real American Mensa questions, players are put to the test in a variety of mini-games and puzzles. With over 100 events, there's a lot of content to get your Mensa on.

Hotel Transylvania - $29.99

The folks at WayForward (Shantae, Contra 4) put their spin on the Castlevania formula with the kid-friendly Hotel Transylvania. You play as Mavis, daughter to a vampire that runs a hotel used as a refuge for monsters who just want to relax and get off the grid for a week or two. Explore the grounds of the hotel in hopes of accomplishing the tasks your father has asked of you.

DSiWare:

Working Dawgs: A-Maze-ing Pipes - $1.99/200 Points

It's not often a topic of discussion, but dogs are excellent plumbers. And dawgs? Well, they're even better! They wear the safety vests and everything. Pretty cute, thinking they're human and all. Drag, rotate, and drop various shapes of piping to complete the work presented to you. You have to work quickly, as the clock is counting down, and you can't risk a flood. If anything blocks your path, simply blow it up with bombs. It doesn't sound like the safest working environment, but that's why we get dawgs to do it.

Jump Trials - $1.99/200 Points

All those years your mother tormented you. "All this video game business, it's all for nothing! What did a Mega Mans do for anyone? Jack S, that's what!" Little did she know that your Mega Man playing would lead to this, a test of your skills over 20 years later. Jump Trials has all the disappearing blocks and spike traps you can handle. Control a stick person and finish each platforming challenge within the allotted 10 seconds. It's about time you show your mom just how cool you are.

Once again, they can't even accurately depict what Myst 3DS is like.  The promo video is the same one that's been around for nearly a year (although they changed "March 2012" to "This holiday season").  The same video that shows the gameplay on the touchscreen, even though the screenshots in the game's description depict the gameplay on the 3D screen.  In fact, those screenshots are probably the most accurate depiction of the game I've seen thus far, as all other screenshots have been of RealMyst in a resolution too large for the 3DS to display.

I looked around, and I haven't heard anything good about it.  Visible compression in the graphics, awkward control scheme, and no stereoscopic 3D (the whole reason you'd want to play it on 3DS).  You can get a better experience for 1/5 the price on PC or iOS, so why pay $30 for it here?
