Currently, North America is getting NightSky, Liberation Maiden, free Mutant Mudds DLC, and Ghosts 'n Goblins next week. Damn.

The NES version of Ghosts 'n Goblins is hitting the 3DS Virtual Console on October 25, according to the Capcom Unity blog.

The game, originally released for the NES in 1986, is out on the Wii Virtual Console in every region. This is its worldwide debut on the 3DS.

This is the first game in the Ghosts 'n Goblins series, which was then followed by Ghouls 'n Ghosts (the Genesis version of which is on the Wii Virtual Console), Gargoyle's Quest (Game Boy available on 3DS Virtual Console), and Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (the SNES version of which is on the Wii Virtual Console).

I've never played any of these games but am well aware of their infamous nature. Maybe with save states and (presumably) a five dollar price tag, I'll look into this.

But if I recall correctly, Ghost 'n Goblins wasn't on the Virtual Console list that Nintendo put out in that press release a while back... Maybe this means other games could sneak in?

Yet another game improved drastically by the introduction of the save state feature. And man, there's basically nothing new coming this week, and so, so much coming next week.

Nintendo needs to do stuff like this every week. I look at the weekly PSN updates, and I'm amazed at the amount of content that Sony brings to the PS3.

"OK," I guess.  I personally think the 3DS Virtual Console should be reserved for handheld games instead of regurgitating content from the Wii Virtual Console, but I guess the original Game Boy was severely lacking in worthwhile titles.  I wonder how the actual Game Boy VC titles have been selling, actually.

Man, GBA support for non-Ambassadors really can't come soon enough to the 3DS Virtual Console.

Nintendo attempting to goose 3DS sales by making people chuck theirs across the room? BRILLIANT!

It would be great if NoA would keep up this trend but I don't think Reggie has a clue how to cater to the core audience. I mean, the Game Boy well runs deep and NES titles are perfectly suited for the system. That's without even looking at GBC, GBA, and SNES. I could be devoting twenty dollars a week just for eShop titles for years to come if Nintendo had any clue how to come get it.

Anyways, great week. Will pick up Lib Maid and GnG. Maybe NightSky as well....

Wish they would have taken a play from Sony's book and just made all the VC games Cross Platform.  Even if they were just for sell on both.

Maybe when we finally get an account feature.

See, I'm glad they're offering console ports as well.  Will I be purchasing this one?  Unlikely, but there are plenty of virtual console games where I think "man, i'd love to have this on my 3DS".

My problem with the console ports is that they're taking a slot that could have gone to an actual handheld Virtual Console game, because Nintendo refuses to release more than one a week out of paranoia.

You do realize two VC games are coming out next week, right? This and Castlevania The Adventure.

Alright, and how often does that happen?  Usually with Nintendo it's 1 VC game, 2-3 eShop titles, etc.

Well, it invalidates your comment about Nintendo refusing to release two a week.

I agree; I wish we had more VC games every week, but we're looking at having more than a month of at least one VC game a week. Things might be getting better (hopefully).
