Konami Comments on Castlevania Release Date

Don't get your hopes up.

A Konami public relations official responded to Nintendo World Report's inquiry on the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate release date. After the game was missing from Nintendo's 2012 release calendar sent out this morning, we reached out to Konami for more information.

Konami's reply stated, "We can't comment on Nintendo's release but more information about Castlevania MoF launch date should be announced soon."

A press release sent out by Konami for their GamesCom lineup last week noted the game would have a 2013 release.

Despite the lack of information today, the game was originally announced as a Fall 2012 release at E3.

Konami Announces Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Coming Early 2013

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that the action adventure title Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will be available in early 2013 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS™system.

Developed by Mercury Steam, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate takes place 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and is a precursor to the highly anticipated and recently announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate reveals the story of Gabriel Belmont's descendants, Simon and Trevor Belmont, as they battle their own destiny only to discover their true, shocking fate.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will be available on Nintendo 3DS™ in early 2013.

Maybe they're delaying the game to better synch-up with the release of Lords of Shadows 2 next year on top of the extra layer of polish. Otherwise, I really don't see what they would be running from on the 3DS in the Fall.
