Get it before it becomes a legend.

The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary art book and story guide, Hyrule Historia, has once again appeared in Japanese bookstores online.

The book has been in such incredibly high demand that it has completely sold out on two separate occasions since its release last December, likely making this reprinting a strictly limited opportunity at best.

The book is listed as in stock on both Amazon.co.jp (search for "hyrule") and CD Japan listed here, at the time of writing only 7 copies remain at the latter. The retail price is 3,255 yen - we recommend checking at www.xe.com for an up to date conversion to your local currency. Several other online retailers may have it in stock for varying prices.

Talkback

If you go with CD Japan, you get points for signing up, so you can get 300 yen off (just make sure to apply it on checkout). Of course, the shipping charge sucks, but that's how it usually is with stuff from Japan.

With shipping being twice the price of the book you're better off picking this up on ebay, plenty of them up between $40-$80

Just bought the last one.  70$ total.  Sometimes it hurts being a zelda fanboy :(

Amazon's shipping prices are astronomical regardless of the country it's being sold from, but CD Japan's shipping price for my copy was $30 - hardly what I'd call "twice the price of the book".
I've searched for the book on ebay since it first released and have never seen it for less than $60 plus a usual minimum of $30-40 shipping. The standard price there fluctuates somewhere between $80-200.
Perhaps you could help our readers by linking to some of these $40 auctions? I sure can't find any.

It's in Japanese, but it's mainly an art book with some accompanied text.  There's a website out there that has most of (if not all of) the book translated for English speaking fans.

Does anyone know if I buy a copy from CD JAPAN if it is a new copy? The list price is 3100 yen and Geo said he got the last one so I'm not sure if it is new. I only want a new copy so thanks for the help!

Also is this going to be published in English?

I think they only sell new stuff. It looks like they sold out of their current shipment but expect more in the next 1-3 weeks.

Hey sorry I feel really silly saying this but does that mean that you recommend I go ahead and order it? I'm not sure if they are out or not and I'm not familiar with CD JAPAN so I don't know if it is a scam or not :/ I really want one though so if you believe it is safe I'm buying one ASAP.

Thanks!

I was able to pick one up no problem from Rakuten:

If they dont ship it direct to your country, you can always have it forwarded via a forwarding service like Tenso.com.

Neowing and CD Japan are the same company.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows if the Hyrule Historia is sealed with plastic. I'm trying to buy one off of eBay but I can't tell if they are new or not (although the sellers say they are). I just wanted to know what to look for from someone who has one!

Thanks!!

I got mine in. It is not sealed in plastic, but it has an obi (paper label outside of the cover) like most Japanese things.

Got a news tip? Send it in!
