The game was announced at a 10th anniversary event for the series.

A fifth installment of the Ace Attorney games was announced yesterday as part of a 10th anniversary event for the series. No platform was given for the game, nor a release date. No further details about the game were revealed, and it is currently unknown whether there will be a release outside Japan.

There was also an announcement for Gyakuten Saiban 123 HD, a compilation of the first three games with updated graphics to be released for iOS/iPhone.

The first game in the series, Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney), was released on October 11, 2001 for Game Boy Advance in Japan.

I'm delighted to hear it. I just hope it's closer to the original trilogy than it is to 4. Something about the latter just felt off to me.
