Even ticket holders were not allowed in through the barriers.

At around 2pm today, Gamescom was closed to public visitors - even those with paid tickets, for around 30 minutes due to the venue reaching capacity. This year's event is expected to be the biggest yet, and is set to beat last year's 250,000+ crowd. Exhibitors and floor space have both increased this year.

Gamescom entrances have electronic ticket barriers to monitor the number of people who enter and exit. Security guards were in place, particularly in the morning, for crowd control.
