Disc-Only Version of Wii Play: Motion Available For Club Nintendo Users

You can get the new MotionPlus-controlled game sans controller for $30.

E-mails went out to Club Nintendo users today that revealed that they could buy a copy of just the Wii Play: Motion disc for $29.99 exclusively on the Nintendo Online Store.

The game, which released today, is bundled with a Wii Remote Plus controller and retails for $49.99. The disc-only version can only be purchased with an exclusive promo code that is included in the e-mail to members.

There is no word on whether or not the disc-only version of the game will be available in any other capacity, and there is a chance the e-mail only went out to users who registered other MotionPlus-exclusive games.

I just got the email. And here I thought I was special.

I already own two Wii MotionPlus's, so I may get this (if I decide to get Wii Play: Motion).

BlackNMild2k1June 14, 2011

....I already bought it on Amazon a week ago.

They couldn't have sent that email out a week or two before the release date?

Not bad, I just picked it up for that price!  :)  I don't want another controller till that fancy gold Zelda version comes out.

This is quite nice for those who already have all the Wii Remotes they need. I am curious as to the quality of the mini games. The E3 2011 trailer of Wii Play: Motion had me 50/50 with the mini games shown.

With the Wii U using the WM+, I think it makes sense to get the discounted controller, even for people that already have four.  I've found that they are not that durable.  The main reason I wouldn't is to wait for other colors.

I agree with you Strawhat, I'm a sucker for golden Zelda stuff.  I've got the DS lite and Golden pro controller (from Goldeneye but whatever lol).

I wonder if the Wii U wiimotes will be redesigned in any way.

It's very cool that they're offering this version. I guess the next question is whether it's worth $30? TYP and I had a lot of fun with three of the mini-games at E3, but we didn't get to try them all.

Since a Wii Remote Plus costs $39.99 by itself, this is hardly a deal. You might as well just pay the extra $10 and  get the extra remote.

WiiPlay Motion w/ Wiimote+ cost $50
WiiPlay Motion w/o wiimote+ cost $30

spend the extra $10... I think you mean spend the extra $20 and get the extra remote.

That seems pretty expensive, at most it should be $20. Though since this is Club Nintendo, I'd rather spend coins on it since I have no other use for them.

Nintendo really has to start releasing 2 versions of these games on the same day: with remote and without remote. Motion Plus has been out for almost 2 years now and Nintendo has been selling the Wii with Remote Plus for awhile as well. They just started selling Wii Sports Resort without Motion Plus fairly recently. Lamezorz.

I'm waiting on a reply from Nintendo before I bite.  I want to make sure this comes in a case, and not a cardboard sleeve, and includes the Club Nintendo Pin.

I mean, I can always use a 6th Wii remote and all... but...

Mop it up - You know, depending on how many coins you've got, I'd bet we can work something out.

No dice, I bet you'll be able to get the entire bundle for $30 during holiday sales this year.

Ooops... I was actually thinking save $10 as opposed to buying it and another remote separate... Yet somehow the lines apparently got crossed on the way from my brain to the keyboard. My bad :-P
