25th Anniversary versions will be released in October for Japan.

As part of their ongoing celebration of Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary, Nintendo announced Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary DSi and DSi LL (DSi XL) systems.

The DSi LL is red and is emblazoned with the gold outline of a mushroom, fire flower, and star on the top cover as well as the text "Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary."  Rather than a line of power-ups, the regular DSi features Mario jumping over the camera sensor.

The special editions will come in red boxes bearing the Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary logo.  The DSi LL will be released in Japan on October 28 at a price of ¥18,000 ($215).

No one cares, bring on the 3DS.

I wonder what will sell worse, the GBA Micro or this?

Special editions of systems do sell well. The NES/Famicom version of the GBA SP sold very well. The DSi XL sell huge in Japan and this edition comes out four months before 3DS, this will be a huge seller guaranteed.

Needs more decals, it isn't much more than a red DS.

The DSi version has more images than the DSi LL version.
