Hideo Kojima announced the release window at Tokyo Game Show.

The 3DS version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be coming out in 2011, according to series creator Hideo Kojima at a press conference at Tokyo Game Show.

There weren't many more details at the event outside of the release window and the fact that the game's name will simply be Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It was also stated that more information will be revealed at a later date.

So they changed the name? At E3, they announced the game as Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater.

Good to get a general date, although I am not sure anybody expected it to be out this year anyways.

For those that have not played it Metal Gear Solid 3 is awesome and probably the best entry in the series.  So if you've been Nintendo-only this whole time this is likely a worthy purchase.

Still I think the 3DS has a gimmick that makes it very attractive for ports and I fear the lineup is going to be flooded with them.  It has an easy formula of offering old games... in 3D!!!
