The Big N won't be hosting a press conference this year.

Nintendo will not be hosting a press conference at GamesCom later this month. This is the second consecutive year that Nintendo has opted for a quieter presence at the German gaming convention, maintaining a booth, but not holding a separate press event. It has already been reported that they will not be releasing the launch price or date for the Nintendo 3DS handheld until September 29.

Nintendo will not be the only company abstaining from the show, neither Capcom nor Sega will be attending the event. EA, however, will be staging a press conference, and Microsoft is said to be still finalizing their plans for the show. Sony has been known to show off new hardware at GamesCom, including last years reveal of the PS3 Slim.
