See Pit take flight once more in glorious 3D.

Years in the making, the sequel to Pit's NES and Game Boy adventures finally lands on the Nintendo 3DS. Pit's design is exactly the one seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Other classic characters such as Palutena and Egg Plant Wizard also return.

Gameplay is a mix between Sin and Punishment and Star Fox. Pit flies around the screen defeating enemies at high speeds.

The E3 trailer is as follows:

When I first saw this I thought it was a Wii game. I guess we know that the 3DS has gamecube level graphics.

I love everything about the trailer except for the odd scene with enemies in what looks like a castle courtyard.  That looks very poorly done.  I hope it's just a product of the game being early.

I'm seriously psyched for this though.  I love the Pit character model from Smash and I'm glad they are using it here.  Does anyone else get a distinct Sin & Punishment vibe from some of the scenes?

Yeah I can see the Sin and Punishment vibe. I wonder how much the graphics are simplified to make a higher contrast for the 3D?

I have been waiting on a Kid Icarus game forever!
Love the Brawl model. Gameplay looks fun. Eggplant Wizard is back!

Hope to see impressions soon.

I wish it was a Wii game.  :(  This looks so cool and then I realize that to play it I have to hunch over a tiny screen.  I want TV OUT!!

This is the most interesting game Nintendo showed today.  I can guess what everything else is like but this I can't.  It may be an old franchise but it might as well be brand new.

Just realized that Masahiro Sakurai is doing this game... he really didn't go far from Nintendo after all, it seems.

Is there programmable shaders?

ThePermJune 15, 2010

if you play upside down Ian you dont have to hunch over, it is possible to play reclined

The 3D effect might help with judging distances in 3D space, provided you have depth perception.
