The Punch-Out!! developers are building Cybertron Adventures from the ground up.

Next Level Games (Punch-Out!!, Mario Strikers Charged) are working on Transformers: Cybertron Adventures, which is being made exclusively for Wii.

Like past Transformers game, players can play through an Autobot and a Decepticon story in the campaign mode. Cybertron Adventures will feature a similar storyline as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version, which will be called Transformers: War for Cybertron.

Despite the similarities, the upcoming game has been built exclusively for Wii, and features a handful of missions designed for the system.

There will also be a co-op mode, though the details of it aren't clarified. The last Transformers game on Wii featured co-op inspired by Super Mario Galaxy, and it wouldn't be surprising if Cybertron Adventures featured the same mode.

Transformers: Cybertron Adventures is slated for a June 22 release.

Did anyone mention that the Wii version is being developed by Next Level Games*?

*You know the guys that made PunchOut! Wii

It's funny how the catch phrase 'built from the ground up for Wii' went from a magic happy term to an over stated cliche to now an omen of dread among Wii gamers.

While I like the effort some devs make to create a proper Wii game, sometimes it feels like a politician who claims to be willing to 'work across party lines' to pass a contested bill.

Knowing that Next Level is making it gives me hope about how it turns out and I am optimistic about how it will turn out.

I'm not at all a Transformers fan; I never saw any of the TV shows or movies and never had any of the toys. That being said, the fact that Next Level Games is making this means I'll pay attention to it.
