Chrono Trigger 2 for 3DS. (Not happening.)

Wouldn't it be Chrono Trigger 3DS since Chrono Cross is technically #2 in the series?

Chrono Cross is the third game in the series. The second game, Radical Dreamers, was only released in Japan.

Funny, I thought this game would have been better suited for the 4DS.

But Radical Dreamers: Nusumenai Hōseki was only a sidestory, plus it was just a text adventure.

Both Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross are sidestories. (In fact, Chrono Cross is a quasi-remake of Radical Dreamers.)

I don't think there will ever be a true sequel to Chrono Trigger, and that's okay. The expectations for such a game would be nearly impossible for SquareEnix to meet or exceed.

I would love to see a true sequel to Chrono Trigger. But you are right about how the expectations for the game would probably be too much for SE to handle. However, my biggest expectation is to just see it get made. Fans really deserve to have this franchis brought back into the lime light. If the game is successful, they could to do a sequel to super mario RPG.
