Nintendo provides a smaller helping of digital gaming this week, but dishes out one of the biggest downloadable games of the year so far.

This week in Nintendo Downloads we have six new titles across the Wii and DS, including five for DSiWare, and one for WiiWare.

The only WiiWare release is the hotly anticipated title Cave Story. This Nicalis-developed game is a side-scrolling, Metroid-style platformer with RPG elements. The game borrows its art style from the 8-bit NES era, and has a completely redesigned soundscape from the original 2004 PC release. Cave Story features a large cast of colorful characters and multiple endings. The game is available on the Wii Shop channel for 1,200 Wii Points ($12).

On DSiWare, Nintendo releases a trio of Game and Watch titles, each for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2). The games included are Judge, Chef, and Mario's Cement Factory. Judge supports up to 2 players, with each player trying to decide if he will receive a larger number than his or her opponent. The other two games, however, are single-player only. In Mario's Cement Factory, Nintendo's famous plumber hero must move across the stage via elevators to dump cement into cement mixers below. In Chef, the player must catch falling ingredients before they reach the floor.

Next up on DSiWare this week is Libera Wing with 60 stages, some of which are story-based, and some of which are quick-play. The game, developed by Pixel Federation, is set in outer space, as you defend Earth from incoming enemy ships. It is a single-player only game, and is available on the DSi Shop for 800 Nintendo DSi Points ($8).

The last DSiWare title this week is Drift Street International from Tantalus. This street-racing game was built from the ground up for DSiWare, and pushes the DSi to its full potential to achieve a smooth frame-rate and draw-distance. The game supports up to four players, and has arcade-style checkpoints on each track. Tracks are located in the United States, Japan, and The UK. Drift Street International is available on the DSi Shop for 800 Nintendo DSi Points ($8).

Good, good. Now we've got MM10 and Cave Story out of the way. The only one left is Shantae. Get on it, Nintendo!
