The sequel to the popular NES title will see release on November 9 and feature online support.

Nintendo unveiled Excitebike World Rally for WiiWare on their video series "Nintendo Week."

Set for a November 9 release, the title will be a remake of the NES title, featuring the classic theme song and 3D graphics reminiscent of the original NES game.

The biggest feature in Excitebike World Rally will be a new online mode where players can drive around with other players around the world using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The track editor will also be present in the game, and players will be able to play the game either using motion controls or with the Wii Remote as a classic NES controller.

The next episode of "Nintendo Week," which has a new episode every Monday on the Wii's Nintendo Channel, promises more information on the title.

Discussion of the game is already underway on our forums.

I bet this is the game that Nintendo showed IGN. This is awesome news.

The Governor of California still declares that Wii has a drought.

The video on Nintendo Week looked exactly like NES Excitebike, in terms of gameplay. I'll get interested after we hear more about the new features.

By the way, where is Excitebike 64 for Virtual Console?

I want this...bad.

3D graphics reminiscent of the original NES game.

Wait, what? The original wasn't 3D...

Regardless, this could be interesting, but the word "remake" worries me. I hope it has some worthwhile new features and isn't just a fresh paint job.

@Mop - Watch the trailer, you'll see what he means - http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/26855

It appears to include the terrain shifters from ExciteTruck/Bots, so it's more than just a visual upgrade.  It's hard to tell what else is new at this point, though.

Yes, what I meant is that while the game is in 3D the colors, the look, and the characters look like their NES counterparts. So while the game is in 3D it looks like the NES game.

Exactly like NES Excitebike? You mean PERFECT?

That would be epic if Nintendo released that on VC alongside this that Monday.
