EA Announces EA Sports Active Expansion

EA Sports Active sold 600,000 units within two weeks.

At EA's E3 2009 Media Briefing Peter Moore, President of EA Sports, announced that EA Sports Active has sold 600,000 copies to date. The fitness game has sold 300,000 copies in each of the two weeks since it released.

After discussing those sales figures, Moore then announced that EA will release an expansion this holiday season. It will feature 30 new activities including water sking, kayaking, and more sport events. He said that the game will have a stronger emphasis on working out the core.

Lastly, he announced that the game will feature a "tropical" theme.

600K is pretty damn good and more than I expected. I suspect he meant "sold to retailers" (i.e. shipped) rather than sold to consumers.

That's still a good number.

Funny how they are going to try and mimic the Wii Sports Resort theme with 'tropical'. I wonder if they are also going to include M+ support.
