Cooking highlights a motherly package.

As an apparent push towards capturing the adult female market, Nintendo will release a special Mother’s Day-themed DS Lite bundle featuring a Lime Green DS Lite, a green carrying case, and a copy of Personal Trainer: Cooking.

The bundle will be available at retail on May 3 and priced at 149.99 MSRP.

Personal Trainer: Cooking was released in North America on November 24, 2008 and has sold over a million copies. The title was heavily marketed towards an adult audience, featuring Lisa Kudrow from the TV show Friends as a spokesperson.

Talkback

I got my dear old Mom the baby blue DS Lite bundle for Christmas last year.  I need to check in to see how often she plays it.  Lime green?  Can't see it being as popular.

What surprises me is that with the DSi out in full force they didn't use it for the Mother's Day bundle. Maybe the DSi is still in limited supply and couldn't make a bundle with it.

I hate this article so much. On the main forum page, it read "Last post in: Nintendo Announces Mother..." and for some reason I thought it would be something to do with the Mother series, like Mother 3 finally coming to North America.

And now... sadness...

Now I will cry whenever I see the colour lime green... :'(

I seriously believe they intend to phase out the DS Lite and make the DSi the only model. They are already doing this Japan (where DSi makes up like 80% of all DS sales). I think this may be to help clear out some DS Lites. Wouldn't it make more sense to do a pink DS Lite than a lime green? When I think mother's day I think of pink and not green.

Why you sexist little...
Whatever. They've already released two different pink colours of DS Lite, so maybe this would have been a good time for purple?

You son of a dust mite, you totally planned this one, didn't you? You could have just as easily worded the headline as "Mother's Day DS Lite Bundle Announced By Nintendo" to avoid this incident... :'(

That's right, even though the news came in yesterday I knew about this for months, and I carefully planned it out so I would upset you and just you.

I'm a bastard like that.  :)
