Nintendo President Satoru Iwata says that plans for a video download service for the Wii may also extend to the Nintendo DS.
Last year, Nintendo made an announcement that they will be partnering with a Japanese ad agency by the name of Dentsu to start a video service for the Wii sometime in 2009 in Japan. This service will feature free videos that are supported by advertisements, and pay-to-view content.
Recently, President Satoru Iwata revealed to the Wall Street Journal that Nintendo plans to extend this service to the DS. Once the movie is downloaded to your Wii, users will be allowed to transfer their videos to the DS. Iwata also revealed that if the service is successful in Japan, Nintendo would like to bring it overseas.
