Blast Entertainment announces the release of the DS game starring the popular British character. Also, a Wii version is slated for release before the year is out.

Blast Entertainment and Mastertronic Group announced last week that their new game for the Nintendo DS, Mr. Bean, is on store shelves. Based on the long-running British comedy TV series, the DS game brings 12 levels of puzzles and traps in a 3D environment. The game also allows players to dress Mr. Bean up as a pirate, fight enemies with frying pans, and use the touch screen for a Whack a Mole event. Though Mr. Bean has been gathering fans since the show's debut in 1990, the DS game has been developed to target today's young viewers who are devoted fans of the comedy show.

Blast Entertainment also mentioned their plans to release a Wii version based on the DS and PlayStation 2 games later this year.

Such is the popularity of this title, that we are planning to release a Wii version later this year."

WHAT?!!

This is something I have to see to believe.

Now I find it very interesting that America pretty much forgot about Mr. bean rather quickly yet he is still insanely popular in other parts of the world.
