Sega Announces DLC for Samba de Amigo

The first track pack will contain three songs and will be available at the game's launch in September.

Sega announced this morning that downloadable content will be available for their upcoming maraca-shaking rhythm game, Samba de Amigo.

The downloadable tracks will come in packs of three, the first of which will include:

I Want Candy – Bow Wow Wow

Are You Going to be My Girl? – Jet

Mambo Mambo – Lou Bega

The track packs have not yet been priced but the first one will be available on September 23, for the release of the game.

Samba De Amigo Officially Announces Downloadable Content

SEGA of America and SEGA Europe ltd. are excited to officially announce that Samba de Amigo - the zany new Wii-exclusive rhythm game coming out on September 23, 2008 - will be one of the first titles to offer exclusive downloadable Wii content. Kicking off at launch these downloadable song packs will feature three irresistible maraca-shaking tunes. The first fun-filled downloadable pack will offer:

- I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow


- Are You Going To Be My Girl? - Jet


- Mambo Mambo - Lou Bega.


From that point forward, song packs will be released on a regular basis to add additional content to the game already packed with tunes to get down and have a great time to! Pricing is yet to be confirmed.

About Samba - this Samba-inspired rhythm game was made popular in arcades and on the Dreamcast and is now making its way exclusively to the Wii! Shake the Wii controllers like maracas to the beat of over 40 songs and additional downloadable content - from classic tunes to modern-day pop hits - as the single and multiplayer game turns any day into a party. Ugh track packs, the Activision method of DLC. I hope they don't charge 6.25 as activision does for 3 songs.

DLC?!  But isn't that IMPOSSIBLE?!!

I think I'm going to mock Rock Band about this forever, even if Rock Band 2 on the Wii has DLC.

This DLC will probably be in the game disc and be unlocked with a monetary fee.
