Yeah, I said it.

SEGA SLASHES ITS WAY INTO STORES WITH BLEACH(tm) FOR THE WII AND NINTENDO DS

Video Game Based on Hit Anime Series Ships in North America

SAN FRANCISCO (October 9, 2007) - SEGA(r) of America, Inc. today announced that Bleach(tm): Shattered Blade(tm) on the Wii(tm) home video game system from Nintendo and Bleach(tm): The Blade of Fate(tm) on the

Nintendo DS(tm) portable handheld system has shipped to retailers in North America. Both games are based on the hit animated series currently in its second season on Adult Swim. The games offer relentless action and dazzling swordplay with crisp, highly-stylized graphics that stay true to the TV series and offer players an authentic anime experience. The games feature a robust cast of characters voiced by the original

voice actors from VIZ Media's award-winning BLEACH(tm) anime. With a dynamic cast of over two dozen characters in the games including Rukia, Kon and hero Ichigo, gamers can spend hours furiously engaged in combat while unlocking individual character stories, all based on the animated series' story arc.

The BLEACH storyline follows fifteen-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki who is able to see spirits from the afterlife known as "Soul Reapers." The Soul Reapers are tasked with defending humans from otherworldly beings called

"Hollows". One fateful day, Ichigo meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper who lends him her powers after she is injured by a Hollow. In the game, players progress through an exciting storyline facing increasingly difficult

opponents in their quest to uncover the truth.

I bet the Wii version sucks, Sega style.

CalibanOctober 10, 2007

This reminds me that I have to buy another DS game...for my collection.

MashiroOctober 10, 2007

I'll have to give the Wii version a rental at the very least . . . I'll give Sega one last chance with this franchise.

(The original gamecube game was a disgrace, so terrible)

Forget the Wii version, buy the DS one! I fully expect the Wii one to be like the GC version plus waggle.

MashiroOctober 11, 2007

The fighting system seems to be refined and not slow as sh*t like on the GC which kinda has me happy.

Also the Wii one seems to have *gasp* animated specials with some half decent controls (apparently).

I mean, come on Sega, how f******* cheap do you have to be to not even animate special attacks?

I'll never forget my friend and I's reaction to it. We were expecting something from like GTNT, instead we get a still picture of the character with lame pre-rendered effects going off and then magically damage is done . . .

Sega failed on a whole new level to me that day to say the least.

But yeah I'll probably pick up the DS title at some point in time as it seems to be a whole lot better.

Hell, Bleach GC didn't even have the proper music during the story mode IIRC. I recall being surprised how much closer Bleach DS is to the show than Bleach GC was.
