Revolution to be shown at E3?

Nintendo's head of Public Relations seems to think so.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News (registration required, sorry), Anna Dolecki, Nintendo's Director of Public Relations, said that, "Showing Revolution this year will be very important to us in terms of making sure that our audience knows that Revolution is real."

She goes on to reiterate the other information that we've known, using three DVD cases again as the point of reference, as well as the ability for Revolution to be housed either horizontally or vertically.

This is the first word from anyone inside Nintendo that Revolution will be shown this year, but there is a small possibility that the quote was taken out of context, and that while Nintendo will show Revolution this year, it won't be at E3, but at another event. However, The Dallas Morning News did state in its story that "Nintendo won't reveal details of the Revolution's technical innards until E3", the first glimpse of hope that we'll not only see Nintendo's new "sleek" console, but we'll find out what's powering the machine as well.

Here we go again......please Ninty, PLEASE don't do the "dreamware" thing you always do....have something concrete this time! The smoke and mirrors is too old, too little, and too late a trick/tactic to be using right now!

I hope they show off the Revolution as well, but if they don't I just want some info, just a tiny bit. If I don't get anything other then what we have been hearing this weekend I will cry.

This is great news. I hope the teasing actually takes fruition.

"Hey, slow ... leak. Maybe that's why everyone over there keeps referring to Revolution as 'sleek'."

Ugh... someone should pun-ish you.

Rick, stop teasing. We know exactly how much they're going to show. It's all detailed on the 2005 - 2007 release list we've got locked up in file cabinet here at our central offices.

All will be revealed when strangely dressed Japanese women present it on stage dancing to horrible beats and smokey laser lights.

"Rick, stop teasing. We know exactly how much they're going to show."

Is this "Rick stop teasing. We already know they're going to kick ass." or "Rick stop teasing. We already know they're going to disappoint so don't get everyone's hopes up"? I'm assuming number one since it would pretty weird for Rick to gleefully tease us about something he knew was going to be lame.

I think Nintendo knows that MS really failed to impress with their MTV show and they have a chance to turn the attention towards themselves.

Or possibly "Rick stop teasing. I wanna make them dance with an imaginary carrot for a while." face-icon-small-smile.gif

You'll forgive me if I wallow in a bottomless pool of skepticism until E3 comes along.

The phrase "low power consumption" got me very excited. It implies that the processor won't need very much power, that there probably won't be a fan of any sort - the console also sounds a little too small to house a fan - i don't really know what it implies! It just stirs up a lot of excitement and speculation in me. I have never been this excited about E3, I actually can't think about anything else.

Roll on Monday with your PS3
Roll on Tuesday. Nintendo goodness for me!

I'm thinking we'll see aftermarket LCD screens and battery packs for the Rev.
