Use Your Wii Remote on a PC Wii

Through the magic of Bluetooth you can use your Wii remote as a PC game controller.

Thanks in part to information provided by WiiLi researchers, clever programmer Carl Kenner has begun incorporating the Wii Remote into his input emulator software, GlovePIE. Since the Wii remote and console uses Bluetooth to communicate, the Wii remote is also able to pair up with other Bluetooth devices…such as a Bluetooth adapter running on Windows XP.

EA Brand Tarnished, Says Analyst

Though game sales are still strong, declining review scores could be a sign that EA needs to shape up.

Electronic Arts gets a lot of flak for releasing the "same old game" every year. While that's not completely true, critics have said that EA could be doing a lot more with innovation and bringing new IPs to the table. Whether or not the publisher has listened to these outcries is up for debate, but now that someone that can affect EA's bottom line—a financial analyst—has spoken out, there might be changes on the horizon.

In a recent episode of SpikeTV's "GameHead" program, the first video footage of EA's upcoming SSX game for the Wii, now titled SSX Blur, was revealed. You can check out the first video footage of the game on YouTube.

As an SSX fan myself, I'm sure the level shown is from a prior SSX game. Whether or not the entire game will use old courses is unknown at this point. The character and interface, though, are totally new.

Nintendo thwarts hackers' attempts to use Wii Shop as a general web browser.

Shortly after the US launch of the Wii, hackers found that the Wii Shop channel was powered by a limited version of the Opera web browser. With a little technical knowledge and creativity, it was possible to redirect the Wii Shop to browse different websites, albeit in a somewhat limited manner. News of this feat spread across several Internet news sites, and Nintendo took notice.

Though they all didn't come out on a Monday as we expected, the Virtual Console was updated today with two new games from Sega.

First pictures of the Australian retail Wii reveal an actual case for Wii Sports.

IGN Australia recently got their hands on a retail version of Wii. They took many pictures that reveal quite a bit. For the most part, the package is exactly the same as the North American retail box. A remote, nunchuck, and Wii Sports are all included. The only noticeably different part is that, much to the delight of collectors, Wii Sports comes in a plastic DVD sized case like all of the other Wii games.
