The first Wii U downloadable title and Zelda highlight the eShop releases in Japan this week.

Last week, Nintendo revealed that the two Capcom Game Boy Color Zelda titles, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, were heading to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console this week. Not only that, but the titles are currently on sale until March 20, making the titles all the more appealing to Zelda fans. As someone who never had the chance to play the games, I'm jumping all over this deal! Between that and the stealth announcement from Shin'en last week about Nano Assault Neo coming to Wii U eShop via Arc System Works, there are quite a few digital releases to look out for in Japan. Here's a complete list of what hit the eShop in Japan this week:

Video Content

Immediately following the Nintendo Direct last Thursday, the entire conference as well as downloadable 3D videos for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, Super Robot Wars UX and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies were made available on the eShop. As we reported last week after the Direct, Shaun the Sheep is now available on the Japanese eShop for purchase. A total of five volumes are planned to be released, with the first three available now. Each volume contains three short episodes and with the exception of the first volume, which runs 100 yen, each volume is 200 yen each. Hopefully this will pave the way for more digital video content from other studios in the future on Nintendo platforms.

There are also some videos for this week’s releases including videos for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, Crazy Chicken Pirates 3D, Super Robot Wars UX and a new Doraemon game for 3DS (Doraemon Nobita no Himitsu Dōgu Hakubustsukan). A new preview video for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon was also uploaded this week. This new video shows off the variety of ghosts that Luigi will encounter in his adventure as well as giving a peak at some of the different mansions and multiplayer mode.
