Hello and welcome to the penultimate episode of 2013! We've got two segments and one bonus segment this week.

Kicking the show off, Alex joins Danny and Josh to discuss--no, not Pokémon--the future of the Wii U in light of last week's dismal sales numbers. The guys break down what's gone wrong and how they think things could be improved. Maybe just throw Pokémon at it?

Speaking of Pokémon, in the next segment, the wacky game show "Name That Pokémon" returns! The increasingly insane Josh guides Kim and Becky through another round, bending the rules as he goes and threatening bodily harm throughout. A great segment for the family!

After the outro, Scott, J.P. and Donald get together for a long overdue NHL segment. The group goes over the season so far before reviewing the first episode of HBO's 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic. Spoiler: it was kind of bad. Sad face.

As always, you can click here to send us your listener mail. Be sure to join us next week for the very last episode of 2013!

This episode edited by Scott Thompson.

OK I wasn't going to make a comment but after thinking about it I just had to.
The first section of this podcast was unlistenable.  It started out fine, but quickly I became annoyed by the one cast member that continued to make, what I'm sure he though were quick and witty "jokes".  After which the response from the other cast members was silence.
The podcast continues in a fashion that resembles a group of 14 year olds chatting in a high school classroom, giggling over sex jokes.  Ugh.
As the conversation went on, the query was posed by one member, "so you are saying, what the Wii U needs is games to succeed?"  Like no shit! Is this even a conversation?  At this point I turned off the podcast and deleted the file.  This whole waste of time felt like 10 minute cross section of a bad forum conversation.

I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh.  The individual members sound like nice enough guys, but damn, that conversation did not need to be committed to tape.  I don't know who the target audience for this podcast is but I don't see how anyone out of middle school could stomach it.
Coming to this after listening to Radio Free Nintendo was embarrassing.

Perhaps clean up and smarten up the conversation.  Don't try to be a comedian.  This isn't a comedy show, it only serves to derail the topic, and isn't funny in the end anyway.  Try not to tread over the obvious.  Giving the opinions is fine, but keep it focused to opinions if you are not willing to delve deep into a serious conversation.

I wouldn't be as harsh and i had nothing against jokes you did in this particular recording.

I just didn't understand why three guys one of whom doesn't even own a Wii U and the other one who is refusing to buy two of the best games on it for the most ridiculous reasons ever are even doing this discussion.

But yeah it did kind of had a redundant feeling to it.

Thank you for the strong response! The fact that you listened to this and had such a strong reaction makes me...happy. I'll take a negative and constructive comment like yours over apathy any day of the week, and know that I'm glad to have something to work on the next time I record. Only specific thing I wanted to respond to is your reaction to me trying to clarify whether what the Wii U needs is games. It's something intentional done not to state the obvious (and as I said soon after, I don't think games are the obvious problem), but I do it to condense both of their recently-made points into a core idea before I respond. Maybe I'll try to hide that better next time?
