Could the Wii U see a version of the game this holiday season?

Watch Dogs, an open-world action-adventure game unveiled at by Ubisoft at E3 2012, may be coming to the Wii U.

Promotional materials leaked to Kotaku indicate a release for the title on "all home consoles" this holiday season. The game has already been confirmed for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

In June of last year, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key said that while a Wii U version was not planned at the time, the possibility of one was not out of the question.

After seeing the game in action and seeing what you do in that game, I personally think it would be a shame to not have this on the Wii U.  Aside from just wanting it on the Wii U, I think they could do some nifty things with the GamePad.

NeoStar9XFebruary 16, 2013

Loved what I saw of the game at E3. Even if it was all scripted. However I'll believe it when I see it as far as a Wii U release. If it comes out on the Wii U I'll certainly get that version. Otherwise it will be a PC pickup and then maybe a PS3 one. Of course this all depends on how the game reviews.

What is that rule about headlines which ask a question?

that said, "all home consoles" smells like pr speak for "next gen systems that haven't been announced officially and sony and MS would be very mad at us if we did that in a poster."

I don't know what you're trying to say, but the headline is fine. We truly don't know what that means, so a question is perfectly fine in this situation.

This game is coming to the Wii U. I spoke to my inside source and he was 99% sure this game was coming to PS4, Xbox 720, Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Seriously? Well I hope so. This game better be good with all the talk about it.

Betteridge Law
It boils down to any headline that ends in a Question mark is going to be answered "No"
In this case:  "Could the Wii U see a version of the game this holiday season?"

To the writer of the Article the answer is still No.  If it wasn't the Headline be:
"Watch Dogs WiiU coming this Holiday."

Why because that is a better headline that will insight reading.

You didn't play it at E3?
It was right next to the Capcom booth.

I did not. I honestly didn't know it was playable.

I bet it uses the RAM Expansion Pak.

ShyGuyFebruary 19, 2013

This got me thinking about a 3DS game where you go around "hacking" other peoples 3DS's. But it would never work since I have yet to see anyone play a 3DS.

The E3 trailer looked amazing, but I seriously doubt the final version can live up to it.

You need to checkout some convetions and expos! Go to PAX, see an ocean of handhelds.

StogiFebruary 19, 2013

But but...that's like going to a beer convention to look at taps.

ShyGuyFebruary 19, 2013

Speaking of taps, a suave man like yourself could clean up at PAX. Your competition is all awkward nerds.

Not that I endorse such behaviour, just saying

SonofMrPeanutFebruary 19, 2013

All Home Consoles?  Welp, better pick up the Vectrex version then.

Well...

I'd probably walk up and say something like "Hey girl...you got sexy knees."

I didn't knew Mark Bussler is on this forum.

On this game, why are people so hyped for this? Because of ambiguous hacking gimmick?

Same with "Remember Me" game.

Like I said, the E3 demo looked really cool. Whether they can deliver that in the final product and build a game around it remains to be seen. I honestly don't think whatever they release can live up to the impression they've made.

OblivionFebruary 19, 2013

I fucking love Mark Bussler.

Same with "Remember Me" game.

The demonstration video showed a really great immersive world. Plus, it's cyberpunk with a 21st century twist! Not enough cyberpunk in the world.

Yeah, Mark is great:

TJ is also alright.
Mohammed from Qatar is the best, of course.

I didn't see much new in that video they showed at E3. "Hacking" to create custom scripted events is nice, i guess.

Same goes to "Remember Me", again with scripted events... It kinda looks like Ghost Trick in 3d... Which probably doesn't sound bad at all.

Hoping both games will be good, of course.

I hope all games will be good.
