A leak from JUMP could give us some insights on what's coming next from Square Enix on 3DS.

A 3D remake of Dragon Quest VII is set to be released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in February, according to a leak from a JUMP magazine. Little is known about the title right now, however, it appears that it is being developed by ArtePiazza, a company who has been involved with numerous Dragon Quest titles from the Super Famicom to the Nintendo DS. Dragon Quest VII is supposedly going to support StreetPass which can be used to exchange in-game lithographs found throughout the game. Square Enix has yet to officially reveal this title yet.

The Dragon Quest games (new and remakes) released on DS were excellent, and I'd love to add this one to my collection. It would've been nice to get a compilation instead of seeing them spread out so much... but I'll take what I can get.

Using StreetPass is a great idea.  Much better than having to leave the game running in sleep mode and hoping to exchange data with someone doing the same thing. (Yeah, that never happens unless you are at a con or something.)

IV is very cheap and easy to find.  I think people poo poo it a bit because it's fairly simplistic combat wise, though it's narrative and game structure is fascinating, especially Torneko's main quest.

But V is a bit more pricey-- no one ever has a sale on a new copy (though it's been out for years) so be prepared to pay full price for a new copy or maybe 5 bucks off for a used copy.  V, of course, being the more beloved and revered game.  Being frugal, been waiting for someone to sell it off of MSRP for a long time, but no dice.

I know what you mean. For a long while there, (before VI came out) V was on my Amazon wishlist at $99. I missed a chance to nab it at about $36 around a year ago. Now it's back up to $45. Not bad, considering.

I'm pretty sure Dragon Quest V had another printing after DQIX's release in NA... too bad you guys missed when it went down to $11 a couple months ago!

Anyways, this is good news. This is the only mainline Dragon Quest game that I don't own, and I don't fancy paying the PS1 game's prices.

I hope it's true and if so I hope that they tweak it a bit so that the shards aren't in completely random places with no direction that renders the game unplayable without a walkthrough.
