A new LEGO Batman game may be in development featuring other DC characters.

A recently revealed image is supposedly teasing Travellers Tales' newest LEGO game, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

The image contains both the rumored game's logo as well as LEGO representations of various DC characters. So far, the game is apparently featuring Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Lex Luthor. Assuming the game's DC Super Heroes theme is true, it is expected there will be a slew of other heroes and villains from the DC Universe.

With an expected 2012 release, it can be predicted that the title may launch alongside the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.

The first game is said to be the weakest of the Lego games. I hope Travelers' Tales recognizes what went wrong and fixes it for the sequel. With the inclusion of other DC characters, there's a chance of environments other than Gotham City.

I loved the first LEGO Batman game, and I would disagree that it's the weakest of the LEGO games.

Also, why not just call it LEGO Justice League?

LEGO Justice League would make more sense. Having Batman in the title probably makes it more bankable (or something).

I never had a chance to play LEGO Batman. I've only heard the bad buzz on it. One of the complaints is that the game doesn't parody well-known stories like the other Lego games do.

That's because it's parodying Batman as a franchise, which is 70+ years. With the other LEGO games, it was more limited (usually 3 movies, sometimes 4). So it's not focusing on specific stories, I still think it's worth playing though, especially if you like the other LEGO games.

Lego Batman is great. A must play for any Batman fan (and if you like the lego games of course). It does fan service very well, in a legaue with Arkham Asylum I would say. Can't yet speak for Arkham City, not until Christmans.

At this point, I'm honestly surprised that the people working on this series aren't bored yet. It's still a big money make for Warner Bros. Interactive, so maybe Traveller's Tales has no choice.

I mean, look, I'll accept that these games are all decently put together titles, but from a creative perspective, it really does feel like a situation where the developer would be clamouring to make something new. Three of these games were released this year, all extremely similar - you can't tell me that wouldn't burn a person out on this type of game.

I suffer from LEGO fatigue, too, but from a design perspective, most of the franchises have slightly different gameplay. The only samey part would be the graphical style. What separates this type of game from endless CoD sequels?

I also think it should be called "Lego Justice League". And the first Lego Batman was NOT "weak" in anyway. But I want to see a more "realistic" Batman game for the 3DS, (I've heard there maybe an import of some kind of Batman: Arkham City to it, but can't find out for sure). Still, I do plan on getting this game as well when it comes out.

By the same boat, I think that a new Call of Duty every year is total overkill. Given that it's broken records 3 years in a row, though, no matter how much I wish this franchise saturation would stop, it's not going to stop.
