Did you like the third game? Let your fellow listeners know in TalkBack! Think you've got a better choice? Then send it my way and your request might be on the next episode of Radio Trivia: Podcast Edition!  Heck, throw in a question and specific songs if you want.  Just remember, it has to be a game found on a Nintendo system in North America (unless we say otherwise)!

This episode was edited by Michael "TYP" Cole. Intro music is copyright Jason Ricci & New Blood. All game music is copyright their respective owners.

HAVE MY CHILDREN, GREG!

As always, great fun to listen to.

The games were:
Gradius III (SNES/Wii)
Wave Race 64 (N64)
Mega Man X2 (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict (DS)

I got 3 out of 5 this time. Game 3 was a total fluke of a guess (unlucky Greg, you were so close), Game 4, well, it's pretty easily recognisable, and as luck would have it, I started playing Game 5 very recently.
I wasn't aware that people were lukewarm to Game 4's music -- I thought it was a brilliant soundtrack. Sure, the remixes are abundant, but that's a great thing because those original songs now come to life with richer instrumentation. That smooth jazz take on DK Island Swing is so good, it makes me shiver.

It would seem that the milestone episode 100 is fast approaching. Got any special plans, TYP?

Great!  This podcast is what I'll be using for in Couch to 5K playlist today!  I'm looking forward to listening. :)

I also got 3/5
Got Game #1, Game #2, and Game #4.

Game #3 had a familiar sound, but it wasn't what I thought it was.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to play Game #5.

Good show, guys.  Very informative. Great music.

I got 1/5, despite having played 3/5 and owning 2/5!

Game 2: I never owned it, despite having many other games in this genre on that system, weird. but I loved the sequel, hard as nails but looked amazing and controlled much better than the first methinks.

Game 4: I still prefer the original soundtrack, I also agree it was a very "tame" remix.

Game 5: TYP, start with the original game, it's simple and fun.

I've often wondered why Megaman X2 and X3 couldn't be emulated on the Wii since they've already appeared in Megaman X Gamecube Collection.  I know that it was probably just a rom image that had it's own emulation driverson disc , but I wonder why it would be so different from the VC in the first place?

I enjoyed playing Megaman X series, but I remember X3 being ridiculously difficult b/c the bosses weren't as vulneralbe to specific.  The only thing that I didn't enjoy about them was that they included the obligatory vehicle levels that started appearing the the late NES-era Mega Man games as well.  Bleh.

I will be listening to this on a trip down to Bournemouth later. The soothing tones of Leahy is all i need.

3 correct out of 5 for me.

TYP, thanks for selecting my request on game 3! My fiance and I were thrilled. Greg, you were sooo close in guessing!

Game 1 I had not played.

Game 2 I got! I loved Wave Race 64 since the first time I played it on N64. I also bought it again for the Wii VC.

Game 4 is a great choice. DKCR is definitely one of the Wii's best.

I had not played game 5. I always found the Advance Wars games a bit tedious, moreso than Fire Emblem (which I'm a big fan of)

I just bought game 5. I know almost nothing about it, and your discussion got me excited to play it.
