The first two Midway compilations were great successes for the company, so it would only make sense to release another set of classics. Version 3 is different from the first two in that all of the games included are arcade racing titles. There are only eight games included in MAT3, but with a list like this, who cares?

• S.T.U.N. Runner

Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 were the star attractions of Version 2, and it should be pretty obvious that the stars of this group are the two Rush games. Racing around San Francisco in tricked-out stunt cars was so much fun back in the day, and now that you can do it in both the past (RUSH: The Rock) and future (RUSH 2049) on one disc, why would you need to play anything else?

Well, the other racing games are pretty good too. Super Off Road and Badlands (which is a version of Super Sprint with weaponry) are the only 2D games included. Race Drivin' is basically the same game as Hard Drivin', but with updated graphics. The two Thunder games are over-the-top exaggerations of speedboat and off-road racing. S.T.U.N. Runner is a very fast futuristic tube racer that also has you shooting at things for points.

With eight racing games on one disc, it would be a shame if Midway didn't include some force feedback functionality with the official GameCube racing wheel, the Logitech Speed Force. The arcade versions of Rush had some pretty extreme force feedback on the cabinet wheels, so hopefully at least those games will support it. Even if there isn't force feedback, let's at least hope they can optimize gameplay for use with a steering wheel.

Midway Arcade Treasures 3 is due out before the end of the year, and it'll retail for the wallet-friendly price of $19.99.
