James Bond 007: NightFire

by Ed Shih - February 12, 2003, 3:45 am EST

Now, you too can have a cool portable device that let's you be a super-spy. No, it's not something from Q's lab, it's James Bond 007: NightFire on the GBA.

James Bond returns to the GameBoy Advance, and for the first time, the portable game will be a first-person action game. Yes, James Bond 007: NightFire for the GBA will follow in the footsteps of its next-generation console cousins and allow players to experience the action of an original storyline through the eyes of MI6’s most famous agent. Expect to visit exotic locales like the Austrian Alps, a Japanese high-rise, an island in the South Pacific, and a zero-gravity space station to defeat 007’s latest adversary, Raphael Drake.

Stealth and selective shooting is the usual Bond modus operandi, and NightFire GBA should prove to be no different. Each of the missions features objective-based gameplay where the player will need to use a variety of high tech gadgets and cool weapons in order to complete the game’s 9 single-player levels.

Other familiar elements of the Bond universe help round out the game, including gorgeous women (Bond babes), the likeness of the current James Bond (i.e. Pierce Brosnan), and the aforementioned high tech gadgets and weapons.

James Bond 007: NightFire for the GBA is being developed by JV Games and should be on stores this March. If the portable version can deliver like the console game did, Game Boy Advance gamers should have another great first-person game to add to their libraries.
