The Mummy: The Animated Series

by Ben Kosmina - August 7, 2002, 6:35 am EDT

Ah, another Gameboy Advance game based on a kid's cartoon. I wonder if It'll be any good?

Ubi Soft is producing a Gameboy Advance game based on the popular 'The Mummy' animated series. There's an animated series now? Anyway, in this upcoming title, you play as all three of the O'Connells, with the ability to switch between them at any time. Hopefully this will provide some refreshing puzzles and unique ideas for the game, which is set in an overhead style.

Here's the game's features fresh from Ubi Soft:

  • Travel across ancient Egyptian environments confronting monsters and minions

  • Control three different characters, each with their own specific abilities and unique skills

  • Use special skills and magical powers as you struggle to find your way through the multiple map levels

  • Experience outstanding visual effects that fully utilize the power of the Game Boy Advance

  • Reach the end to come face-to-face with the mighty and powerful mummy, Imhotep

If they can make Imhotep as dispicable and relentless as he was in the first film, then I don't think there'll be a problem enjoying the game. However, It'll more likely turn out to be like the Scorpion King - a poorly produced CGI character that later promotes the Xbox. No, wait a minute - that's not right...

Ah well, only time will tell.
