by Max Lake - February 9, 2002, 7:38 pm EST

The Powerpuff Girls have arrived on the GBA to save the day once more! Hooray!

The Powerpuff Girls have been one of Cartoon Network’s biggest shows since it hit the airwaves. Chock full of both action and comedy, it’s easy to see why the show’s a hit with all ages. For the few of you who don’t know much about PPG, the show chronicles the adventures of three kindergarten-aged super heroines, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who were created by Professor Utonium. The girls fight crime, protect the city of Townsville from giant monsters and thwart the evil schemes of super villains.

The Powerpuff Girls have appeared in a few games on Nintendo systems, GBC and N64. Now they’ve come to the Game Boy Advance for an all-new bad guy busting romp in Power Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go, developed by Sennari Interactive and published by BAM! Entertainment.

The evil genius simian, Mojo Jojo has stolen a bunch of valuable gems and is using them to power his mechanical army of minions and mobots. Once again, it’s up to the Powerpuff Girls to save the day and stop Mojo, destroy his creations and retrieve the stolen gems.

The gameplay is a side scrolling action shooter, with the girls flying along, punching and using eye beams. Players can switch which Powerpuff they control at any time, which helps keep any one girl from getting too damaged. Professor Utonium has scattered power ups along the way, which bolster your attacks or restore health. There is also a super star power up, which lets the 3 girls combine powers for an awesome team-up attack. The game spans 6 levels and includes familiar characters and locales from the city of Townsville.

Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go also features a multiplayer mode, for up to 3 people with link cables and additional copies of the game. For multiplayer, each player takes control of one of the Powerpuff Girls to race for the high score.

Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go is readily available in North America . Look for more coverage on this game coming soon!
