Upon perusing Camelot's website, many new pieces of art work were discovered, along with various animated gif files showcasing the gameplay mechanics. Of course, all these files can now be viewed here at PGC. Please take note that the screens that look like black boxes in the screen shots list are actually animated gifs showcasing the gameplay.
After looking through the animations, it becomes more apparent that the special powers the heroes possess will be instrumental in solving many puzzles in the game. Throughout the animations the heroes can be found performing such tasks as lifting large boulders, creating icy pillars, and other such activities to make their way through the game.
With four different heroes with distinctly different abilities, it seems that the possibilities for intricate and intelligent puzzles are vast indeed. Fortunately for us gamers, it seems Camelot is taking full advantage of these possibilities.

Here's a little run-down of a Camelot's offical Ougon no Taiyo webpages that were found while traipsing around online not long after the original Preview had been posted. Taking the role of "Jerald", the hero's best friend, the webpage introduces you to the other main characters and tells a bit about their world.
Robin: As stated above, he is both the hero of Taiyo, as well as being a childhood friend of Jerald. He has control over the Energy of Earth. 17 years old.
Jerald: Not only does he happen to be best buds with Robin, he's also rather talented as the Energist of Fire. 17 years old.
Mary: She has the power of flowing Water. Also a very important member of the group, as she not only attacks with her Energy, she can also defend and heal her comrades in battle. 17 years old.
Ivan: The Energist of "unusual Wind". Toilet humour aside, Ivan has many skills he can accomplish with his Elemental affiliation. At 15, he happens to be the youngest of the merry band of heros.
Evidently they are all "Energists", people who have a control over a mystical power known as "Energy." Seemingly divided into the Four Basic Elements of: Fire, Earth, Wind and Water this "Energy" resembles the tried and true realm of Magical Abilities. Jerald goes on to mention that as an "Energist", if you study and practice with your abilities, they shall get steadily stronger and be able to do more complex works.

The first thought that comes to mind whenever this title is discussed is how beautiful the graphics are. When we first saw screens of the AGB in action, no one dreamt the games would look like the in game shots of Ougon no Taiyo. The game looks like a PSX sprite game, albeit on a very small screen.
The little that is known of the plot revolves around a boy named Robin, who has control over "energy", this title's version of the traditional magical abilities seen in many RPGs.
NOA's preview for Golden Sun speaks of Camelot's previous games like Mario Tennis GBC, saying "Any team who can turn a tennis game into an RPG should be able to deliver one heck of a true role playing game filled with magic and monsters." However, it should be noted that Camelot has more than its share of epic-making talent. The Takahashi brothers were at least partly responsible for the great MegaDrive and Saturn series: Shining Force. With this past success under their belts it is almost certain that just about anything RPG-related that Camelot touches will turn to gold.
Screenshots of the battle system are certainly interesting; the game sports a sort of 3D-looking view, not unlike the Breath of Fire series on SNES. Granted, the camera probably won't be swooping around for a close-up when your character deals out the final blow, but what we've seen looks pretty sweet.
The only gameplay feature Ougon no Taiyo has been confirmed to include is four-player link cable support. We have ZERO specifics on how it might be utilized, but we can't help being optimistic that you'll be able to hook up with your friends for an adventure, much like Phantasy Star Online over on Dreamcast.
Look for more information on Golden Sun in the coming months!
