They need to add the letter S at the beginning.

The build up to and environment for playing this game couldn't have been better; no line at all thanks to it being the first business day at TGS, my first experience of playing on the Wii U so I was eager and excited to play anything, plus the fact I was playing co-op with an incredibly hot booth babe who gasped in awe at everything I did. Everything pointed to win.

So why did my mind keep drifting back to playing Battletanx 64? Maybe because I had more fun playing that back in the day, but also possibly because the graphics are so poor, I was actually trying to compare them with the 1998 game in my head.

With only one button used and a selection of three weapons, the gameplay quickly felt repetitive (and I only played the game for 10 minutes). Destructible buildings and scenery were done better in Blast Corps (another N64 that came into my head playing this game) and the low viewing angle is not controllable at all.

The only Wii U exclusive mode is called "Kong Mode" where the GamePad controls a huge monkey mech, the face of which is replaced with the face of the GamePad player. In this mode, apparently there are more control options such as smashing stuff with its fists and, er, farting.

If this has hundreds of missions, many more weapons, online co-op, more fun party modes and loads of other hidden features we don't yet know about, then I will accept that this could be a budget retail release. However in its current form, I can only see it as a $5-10 eShop title.

That's the most awesomely bad subtitle I've ever seen. Well done.

"online co-op"
Ohhhhh really....

I gotta say, sure, the graphics look dated (thought so when I saw it at E3 in the trailer), but the gameplay for some reason reminds me of EDF. Any idea if they're comparable and perhaps TTT starts to offer more when you get further in it?

So far, all signs point to "yeah right".
